The History of Bryan Youth Wrestling Club

The Bryan Youth Wrestling Club was started with the combined efforts of many coaches, parents, and relatives of our original wrestlers. The club started in the 1991-1992 season.

In the 1992-1993 season we hosted our first tournament as our main fundraiser. It went over well, so we decided to continue sponsoring a tournament each season. Our tournament has been noted as being one of the best run tournaments in the area. Since 2005 we have seen rapid growth at our tournament. In 2011 the Bryan Youth Wrestling Tournament nearly hit the 700 wrestler mark.

Each year the coaching staff changes a little but with new coaches and parental support comes new ideas.  We are always trying new ideas and techniques to help the wrestlers. Our coaches and committee members work hard to create a positive environment in which our wrestlers can learn the fundamentals of wrestling.

Through the years, many of our successes have made it to the State Champion level. For that, we are proud to have been a part of their journey. And we look forward to seeing more of our wrestlers in the years to come.
